Monnie passed away peacefully at home on the 13th of May 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents John Whelan and Eileen Fitzgerald, brothers John Paul and Pat. 

Monnie is deeply mourned and sadly missed by his loving wife Bernie, daughters Marie, Valerie, Colette, Helen, Michelle, Nicola, Antoinette, Edel and Emma, sons Maurice Jnr. and Trevor, sons-in-law, 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May Monnie Rest In Peace.

Monnie will be reposing at The Kiely Funeral Home, Dungarvan on Friday evening, 15th May, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, 16th May, in St. Mary’s Parish Church, Dungarvan. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
