The death has occurred of Freda Waldron, née Gaffey, Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon – 23rd May 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family at Roscommon University Hospital. Predeceased by her father John, sisters Bridget and Chris, brother Gary, niece Liesel, and aunt Mae. Freda will be sadly missed by her heartbroken daughter Jessica and son Jonathan (USA), mothers Eileen (Ballinlough) and Betty (USA), adored grandchildren Davin, Darby, Anthony, Tegan, Ronnie, Tae and Fallon, sisters Hilda, Joann, Tess, Kathy, Diane and Claudette, brothers Sean, Padraic, and Martin, aunt Freda, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Tuesday evening from 5 pm to 7pm, followed by Prayers and reception into St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
