Margot Durcan (née Farrell)
The death has occurred of Margot Durcan née Farrell, The Oaks, Turlough Road, Castlebar and formerly of Market Square, Castlebar and Ballina on 4th October 2025. Margot passed peacefully, in the exceptional care of the staff of Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home, Castlebar, in the presence of all her family.
Predeceased by her husband John, her mother Agnes Farrell (née McGowan, a native of Glenisland, Castlebar) and her father Joe Farrell (a native of Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan).
She will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Niamh and partner Jarlath; her adored grandson Hugh ; her sister Marie (Castlebar) ; her brothers Gerard, Joseph and Padraig ; her best friend Nuala McCarthy ; her brothers-in-law ; sisters-in-law; nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.
May she rest in peace.
Margot will repose in Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar F23 FD90 on Monday 6th October from 5.30pm with prayers at 7.00pm. Removal from Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10.30am, arriving at the Church of the Holy Rosary for Funeral Mass at 11.30am.
The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on www.churchtv.ie/castlebar and can be listened to in Castlebar on the Castlebar Parish Radio 105.3fm.
The funeral will then proceed to Shannon Crematorium arriving for Service at 4.00pm. The Service can be viewed on www.shannoncrematorium.com. Password will be published later.
