Martin Winters

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Martin Winters, devoted husband to the late Bridie, brother of the late John, loving father to Martina, Ciaran and Rachael, and cherished grandfather to Jessica and Louisa. In his 87th year, Martin passed away peacefully after a short illness in Wexford General Hospital surrounded by his family and under the exceptional care of Dr. Emma O’ Sullivan, the palliative care team, and the nurses and carers of Mary’s Ward.
He will be forever missed by his heartbroken children, grandchildren, son-in-law Paul, brother Jim, sister Margaret, sisters-in-law Mary and Mella, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Martina, Ciaran and Rachael would like to sincerely thank Martin’s carers Olay, Val and Raj, Dr. Emma O’ Sullivan, palliative care nurses Liz and Sarah, and the nurses and carers of Mary’s Ward for their compassionate care during his final chapter.

In accordance with Martin’s wishes, his reposing will be private. He will rest in the Church of the Assumption, Bride Street, from Saturday 27th September. Requiem Mass shall be held on Monday, 29th September at 10.00 am, followed by burial in St. Ibar’s Cemetery, Crosstown.
