The death has occurred of Pat (Patrick) Shaughnessy of Derrybeg, Tynagh, Loughrea, Co Galway.

Pat passed away peacefully at his home on the 29th of May 2026, surrounded by his loving family. 

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Delia, his brothers Seamus and Jack and his sisters Eileen, Peig and Mary.

Pat will be sadly missed by his loving wife Annie, his sons Declan, David, Aidan, Colm and Patrick, his daughter Mary (Callanan), son-in-law Michéal, daughters-in-law Myriam and Nuala, grandchildren Patrick, Alex, Jack, Anna, Thomas, Tadgh, Ronan and Tara, sister-in-law May, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. 

May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

Pat will repose in St Ignatius Funeral Home, Duniry (H62 WY82) on Sunday, the 31st of May, from 2 to 4 pm.

Funeral Mass for Pat Shaughnessy will take place on Monday, the 1st of June 2026 at 3 pm in St Laurence’s Church, Tynagh. Burial immediately afterwards in Tynagh cemetery.

Family flowers only by request. Donations, if desired, to Galway Hospice.
